Lichang ranks as a leading local plastic recycling enterprise in Taiwan, responsible for the disposal and reprocessing of complicated mixed plastic waste covering PET, PVC, PE, PS, PP as well as rubber sundries.
The enterprise intended to satisfy strict high-grade recycled raw material standards, so it required a reliable sorting system that could stabilize the final purity of PET fragments up to 99.99%. Conventional color sorting devices only distinguish color differences and cannot identify polymer properties, which made it impossible to completely separate miscellaneous non-PET substances and restricted the development of the client’s high-end recycled material business.
Customized APEX Sorting Solution
APEX Sorting configured a matched sorting system composed of plastic color sorting machine and material sorting machine for this project, adopting PM series NIR near-infrared sorting equipment as the core unit. The integrated system realizes dual sorting functions: surface color defect screening via color sorter and precise polymer material identification via material sorter.
The complete set of sorting equipment was customized and calibrated according to the client’s on-site waste plastic working conditions. The matched two-stage sorting structure can fully identify and remove all non-PET impurities in one production pass, perfectly matching the actual mixed plastic continuous processing scene inside the customer’s recycling workshop.
Actual Operation Effect & Business Value
The sorting system stably maintains 99.99% purity of finished PET products after being put into formal production. High-purity recycled resin materials produced by the client fully meet international high-standard recycling requirements.
